All you musicians out there may or may not be familiar with Buffalo’s own (and alum of Performing Arts High School) Ani DiFranco. If you’re not familiar, I highly recommend checking out her music. She is an all independent label and resisted the temptation from large music labels to join them, so she could retain her individuality and style.
Her label Righteous Babe Records has been around for awhile, and she is responsible for renovating the performance and art space at Babeville, a former church on the corner of West Tupper and Delaware Avenue in downtown Buffalo, NY.
I’ve just learned that Ani is starting her own “radio” station.
