My philosophy is people are more important than books at this time. I’m not alone, according to a School Library Journal poll.

Do I want all the library books returned? Sure, of course.

Will the library survive without them all? Again, sure, of course.

Should anyone get more stressed worrying about returning their books this year (when we can’t go back into the buildings at this time)? No, students don’t need any added stress.

Will I be happy to get books back? Yes, of course, but again, it’s not first on my list.

I have been thinking through multiple scenarios for next year, when we do return to our buildings, but haven’t formally drafted my ideas yet.
